Studies show that finances discourage many middle- and low-income students from setting their sights on college, let alone a private university, and many students choose a college based on affordability. Emory understands that choosing the right college should be a matter of academics, not finances. That’s why Emory’s newest financial aid program allows academically qualified students from middle- and low-income families to have access to an Emory education without the burden of debt. Emory Advantage enables these bright students to pursue a career based on what’s in their hearts, not their bank accounts.
Emory Advantage enhances accessibility and affordability. As one of the most progressive financial aid programs devised by any top national university, Emory Advantage attracts highly talented students who otherwise would not have considered applying to Emory. At the same time, it helps create a more diverse environment and a richer experience for all Emory students.
Emory Advantage is available to students in Emory’s four undergraduate programs: Emory College of Arts and Sciences, Goizueta Business School, the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, and Oxford College. The initiative’s Loan Replacement Grant substitutes federal subsidized Stafford Loans with grants for students whose families qualify financially, while the Loan Cap Program limits total education-related debt.
Emory is committed to welcoming any qualified student who wants an education. The resources and opportunities available through Emory Advantage attract undergraduates from all walks of life who can benefit from the Emory experience. Emory Advantage allows them to pursue their dreams of education, exploration, and leadership at Emory without worrying about the costs.
