Programs: Putting Knowledge to Work

With a strong foundation in ethics and responsibility, Emory works to create, preserve, teach, and apply knowledge in service of others. Attention to the public good is a defining part of the Emory character, and it flows through programs in every school and unit of the University. Emory Law, for example, has set a national standard in public interest law. Oxford College, which has a long history of transforming students into leaders, weaves service learning throughout the curriculum. Goizueta Business School focuses on the principled practice of leadership. Emory School of Medicine’s new curriculum is training doctors for 21st-century research and practice.

Across the disciplines, University programs promote understanding among cultures, attract international scholars with new approaches, and explore innovative ideas in research. Emory is well-known for interdisciplinary collaborations that generate solutions to previously insoluble problems: Law works with religion, chemistry with pediatrics, and art with science. Opportunities for such partnerships grow as Emory experts from diverse disciplines create whole new areas for exploration.
